Album in diesem Blog.

Is there a better way to start blogging again after a few days with writing about a release which immediately reminds me of why it can be so bloody rewarding to discover new music? As a note of warning, this album has almost no vocals and is therefore the first Instrumental (Electronica?) release on this blog. "Pancho Chumley" is a perfect example of an album which at first seems to only "nice" and "harmonous", but turns out to be much, much more. Harmonically synchronized sounds, distinct electronic tunes and a suprisingly easy but nevertheless weighty and important play with string instruments lead to the reaction that one simply cant dislike this album. That much facettes are hardly being found on a release these days, especially, as it is here, without vocals most of the times, or only subtle, and without altering the genre of the music completely. I said that the vocals are only subtle, which is true, except for song number 5 "I Dont Want You Back" which is a nice song on its own but doesnt seem to fit on this LP. A further weak point of the CD are the last 3 songs which noticably seem to fade and become blurred compared to the rest of the album. It is apparent that the artist tried to create a soft finish to help the listener seeing off of this tonal journey, but unfortunately began saying goodbye a bit too early. That is not tragic though, as there is a pretty decent Remix Album which shouldnt be easily overlooked. Finally, I would conclude that is an interesting and recommendable album and I am very excited to see what Uncle Skeleton may press onto his next release.
