Bei der Menge an Feinschliff die in diesem Album liegt, mag man gar nicht glauben dass Any Version Of Me kein Label hat was ihn verlegt und auch dieses Album zur freien Verfügung steht, für jeden der einen Internetzugang hat. Den Grundton dieses Pop-Albums ist eher ruhig auch wenn mit "Dim Light" und anderen Nummer durchaus der ein oder andere Song gelungen ist der zum mitwippen einlädt. Der Großteil des Albums wird aber eher durch Nummern wie "Your Smile" geprägt, der übrigens eine fantastische Ballade ist und auch für sich alleine als Single eine sehr gute Figur machen würde. Der größte Makel des Albums ist wohl das Problem dass sich einige Lieder etwas zu sehr aneinander anlehnen und es eher nach einem Herbst/Winter Album klingt und dementsprechend sich gut fürs Allein-Sein an solchen Abenden eignet aber ansonst wohl großteils die Experimentierfreudigkeit und Verspieltheit fehlt die man noch beim Vorgängeralbum "Backward Forever" merkte. Der Link zu "I'm not a Lover" ist aus dem älteren Album und es ist durchaus empfehlenswert auch in dieses Album mal reinzuschauen. Überhaupt sind die Lieder des aktuellen Albums sehr gut produziert und man merkt dass eine Menge Zeit der Planung und dem Einspielen der Songs gewidmet wurde. Wer sich ein Bild davon machen möchte wie sich die Lieder entwickelten kann sich die älteren Demo Versionen anschauen in dem er auf den zweiten Link klickt. Als zusätzlichen Bonus findet man bei jedem Lied wenn man den Link zu "Lyrics" öffnet Liedtext und Tabs zum Nachspielen auf der Gitarre. Vorbildlich.

With the amount of fine-tuning which went into this album, it is not unlikely that one may wonder why he hasnt got a label which distributes his music. The Keytone of this Pop-Album is rather quiet, even though there are some other songs like "Dim Light" which is indeed an invitation for moving a certain part of your body to the beat. The greater portion of the LP is being shaped by slower songs, such as "Your Smile", which is a fantastic ballad by the way and would probably even perform well published as a single. The biggest flaw of the LP is the problem that a few songs are kind of hard to distinguish from another and sound more like autumn/winter songs and therefore fit in pretty well with a mood of being alone and watching the leaves fall down. Unfortunately, the Playfulness of the previous album is somehow missing in this release. While I am at it, I have to mention that the 3rd Song Link above, "I'm not a Lover", is from that mentioned older album and it is quite recommend to have a look into that one if you think you might like music style. Overall the songs of the recent album are very well produced and one can certainly see that there went a lot of time into planning and the recording of the songs.
