Wenn ein Lied einer Band aus einem Pool von Bands die man möglicherweise auf einem Blog vorstellen will schon seit einem Jahr sich in der Dauer Rotation aller meiner Playlists befindet wird es höchste Zeit die Band vorzustellen. Lovely Day hat eine Menge Potential und aber leider wieder einmal zu wenige Leute die das zu schätzen wissen. Die größte Schwäche des Albums ist wohl dass es zu sehr zusammengewürfelt wirkt. Gut auskomponierte Stücke, gemischt mit Instrumentalversionen und Live/Demo Songs ergeben einen Mix der nicht unbedingt jedem schmecken muss weil es einen sehr verwirrten und verwirrenden ersten Eindruck hinterlässt. Aufgrund dieses Mankos neigt man die Stärke, die Individualität der Band auch als solche zu sehen. Gerade der Gesang in diversen Songs kann einige Durchgänge brauchen bis er hängen bleibt, wenn er es dann aber tut landen die betreffenden Songs aber auch auf dem MP3 Player und verschwinden dort dank des Charmes und der Einzigartigkeit auch nicht mehr so schnell. Laden und nebenbei durchhören wenn ihr Indie auch abseits der allseits bekannten Marschroute hören könnt und wollt.

If a song by a band, chosen out of a huge pool of bands to review on this blog, stays in constant rotation in everyone of my playlists for about a year now it is about damn time to present the band. Lovely Day has a lot of potential but unfortunately not that much people appreciating it. The biggest flaw of the album by far is its too mixed up nature. Well composed songs mixed in with instrumentals and Live/Demo Songs result in a Mix which does not necessarily need to fit everyone as it leaves a very confused first impression. This could be the reason why we might see strengths of the band unrightfully as only more flaws. The vocals in particular might be a reason why someone might need a few more listens to get used to the style of Lovely Day. Once one does get used to it, dont be too surprised when it lands on your mp3 player only to stay there for its charm, warmth and uniqueness. Download this album and listen to it on the go if you can and want to listen to Indie which might stray a bit off the beaten path.
